We may still be shivering in the snow here in upstate New York, but summer will be here before we know it. As if warm weather and margaritas aren’t enough to look forward to, we have big news: Lani is scheduling story critiques for the first time in 2014!
Writing your novel is only the first step on the path to literary brilliance. When you have that fresh first draft in your hands, you need someone to help you make sure your characters are compelling, your conflict is tight, that your structure is solid and your pace pitch-perfect. When you sign up for one of Lani’s 25,000-word story critiques, she will cast her expert eye over your manuscript and tell you how to take that rough diamond and make it shine. She’ll show you which moments need your attention, how to bring your unique voice and identity to the page, and how to enchant your reader from the very first line.
How It Works
Lani currently has openings between June and August 2014, during her vacation from teaching storytelling at Syracuse University. You can book your place today by clicking the PayPal button below, and we’ll get in touch to let you know that you’re on the list. Then, when you’re ready, you’ll send the first 25,000 words of your finished manuscript, along with a full 3 to 5-page synopsis, and Lani will get to work. She’ll annotate your manuscript with copious notes and return it to you when she’s done, along with her thoughts on the strengths and weaknesses of your story, and your best strategies for improving it. If something isn’t clear, or if you want to talk over your ideas, then she’ll be available to talk you through the process.
We have a limited number of spaces available, so don’t wait — and if your novel won’t be ready by the summer, you can still take advantage of this special offer, and send Lani your novel any time in the next year. It’s a deal that can’t be beat!
